Most people are familiar with the importance of Calcium for bones, but vitamins D and K2 are also vital for bone health as well as proper Calcium absorption! Vitamin D is beneficial as it aids the body’s absorption of Calcium and Phosphorus and supports immune function. Vitamin K2 is also crucial for strong bones, but also for modulating Calcium — it activates osteocalcin which binds Calcium to bone; and it helps keep Calcium out of artery walls, where it doesn’t belong. And, did you know our Vitamin D3 (as cholecalciferol) is the same form of this vitamin that your body naturally produces when exposed to sunlight?  Support your bone health and overall health with this unflavored vegan spray.

Each bottle comes with 30 servings.

Those currently taking blood thinners, such as warfarin, should not take Vitamin K supplements without first consulting with their physician or healthcare professional, as changes in Vitamin K levels can impact the anticoagulant effects of those medications and potentially lead to complications.

Q: The serving size and servings per container changed! Why is that?

A: As is a part of our ongoing plan here at MaryRuth’s, we are happy to say that we now have USDA Organic certification for our D3+K2 Spray! As we were going through the process to get this product certified organic, we had to change the formula just a bit; this also changed the serving size and servings per container.

The regular recommended serving size has doubled from 4 sprays to 8 sprays, and servings per container decreased just a bit from 38 servings to 30 servings per container — which will still last you a month!

Though our suggested serving size is updated, you can be assured that the amount of D3 and K2 per serving remains the same at 20 mcg (800 IU) Vitamin D3 and 80 mcg Vitamin K2.

Q: Where are the D3 and K2 sourced from?

A: Our D3 is sourced from wild-crafted, non-GMO, vegan Lichen, and our K2 is sourced from Natto, a traditional Japanese food made from fermented soybeans (the highest food source of natural K2!). The process of fermentation removes soy from the product.

Q: What does this product taste like?

A: There is no added flavor in our Liquid Vitamin D3+K2 Spray, though it has the light taste of olive oil, the base of the spray.

Q: Why is there no daily value for Vitamin K on the supplement fact panel?

A: You may have noticed that we no longer include daily values on our label for vitamin K2. This is because of recent changes implemented by the FDA, where regulations now exclude menaquinone as being counted toward the daily value of vitamin K.

Per the FDA: "The preamble to the proposed rule noted that there are three general forms of vitamin K: Phylloquinone (vitamin K1), menaquinone (vitamin K2), and menadione (vitamin K3) (id.). For labeling purposes, there is no specific definition for vitamin K and the AI for vitamin K is based on the intake of phylloquinone, the major form of vitamin K in the diet. Thus, the final rule establishes, in § 101.9(c)(8)(iv), an RDI for vitamin K of 120 mcg based on the AI that pertains only to phylloquinone."

The FDA determined to change this because they do not believe that studies on menaquinone provide sufficient evidence to suggest that menaquinones affect vitamin K absorption and utilization. If you’d like to read the FDA’s full argument, you may do so by clicking here.

MaryRuth’s products that contain menaquinone, and therefore have (or will soon have) updated labels with no specific vitamin K % daily value listed, are as follows:

  • Liquid Morning Multivitamin Essentials+ (Fruit Punch & Strawberry Flavors)
  • K2 (MK7) Drops
  • D3 + K2 Spray
  • Toddler Vitamin D3+K2 Liquid Drops
  • K2 + D3 Calcium Gummies
